The Town of High River processes invoices for utility services on a bi-monthly basis (every 2 months). The invoice includes fixed rates for water and sewer service; consumption charges for water and sewer; the storm sewer fee; waste and recycling services. Water meters are read at the end of February, April, June, August, October, and December of each year. Water and utility bills are mailed the first week of January, March, May, July, September, and November with payment due ON THE LAST BUSINESS DAY of each of those months. For example, January and February bills are mailed out the first week of March and payment is due by March 29.

How does the Town calculate sewer consumption?
The Town of High River tracks the volume of water delivered to your home and uses that number to calculate the water consumption amount on your utility invoice.
The Town does not have a way to track the water going down the drain, so we use your water consumption to calculate your sewer consumption.
Summer months (May through October) consumption for residential will be calculated using the three previous winter water billings (Nov./Dec., Jan./Feb., Mar./Apr.). If the water consumption in a summer billing period is less than the previous winter average or the flat residential fee (used for when there is not one year continuous water consumption), then the current consumption will be used.
Exemptions for the wastewater rate and fee apply for irrigation meters (no wastewater charge for meters designated as irrigation) and customers who are not connected to the Town wastewater system.

The Town of High River DOES NOT invoice renters of properties, as per Bylaw #3810/95.
Online: Click here to register for your account to make payments through the Town of High River’s eServices. Please note that you will also be able to view and make payments for all services offered through the Town.
By Mail: Send a cheque or money order payable to the Town of High River. Do not send cash in the mail. Record your account number or property address on the cheque and enclose the top portion of the bill. Postdated cheques are accepted.
In Person: Our office is open weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please bring your bill with you. Payments may be made by cash, bank card or cheque. Credit cards are not accepted for utility payments. You can also use our drop box outside the Town Office (309B Macleod Trail S.W.). Include the top portion of your bill with your cheque. Do not place cash in the drop box.
Pre-authorized: Payment can be directly debited from your bank account on the last workday of the month that the bill is due. If you wish to enroll in this program please click here to sign up for pre-authorized payments.

Penalty charges of 1.5% per month are charged on overdue accounts on the day after the due date.
