The 31st Annual High River Santa Claus Parade will be held on December 1 at 6:30 p.m.
Theme: Celebrating 150 Years of Canadian Christmas
“Light Up George Lane Park” will be officially ‘turned on’ prior to the parade, with ceremonies getting under way at 5:00 PM at the entrance to George Lane Park. The Lions Club of High River will be on hand with hot dogs and hot chocolate and The Rotary Club of High River will have light wands for the first 1,000 children. There will also be a chance to meet Elsa, Anna & Olaf along with other activities before the switch is thrown!
The Stampede Stage will be set up shortly after 6:00 PM until the start of the Parade. Local businesses will be open late to find those special gifts! The United Church has their ‘Gifts of Hope Christmas Market’ from 4:30 – 8 pm and hot chocolate and hot dogs from 5 – 6 pm. SNAPS is putting on the ‘Winter Craft Fair’ in the Memorial Centre and along 4th avenue this year!
Late night shopping will be available in the downtown with select stores open until 9 p.m.
Plus, Santa will be in the Museum of the Highwood following the parade, so bring the kids and your camera! There are lots of things to see and do in High River!
