The Little Britches Rodeo starts with a parade on the first day winding its way through downtown High River. The Little Britches Parade is considered one of the best 'Victoria Day' parades that allows families to view horses, marching bands and colorful floats. For more information on the Little Britches Rodeo and Parade contact the High River Agricultural Society office at (403) 652-3336. The 2012 parade will be held May 21.
Guy Weadick Week and North American Chuckwagon Races. In Guy Weadick's tradition of bringing the biggest and the best, High River hosts a seven day celebration the third week in June which includes four consecutive days of chuckwagon racing events. Happy Trails Pathways. Approximately 17 kilometres of paved pathway connect with all of the town's major recreational facilities and parks, including the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex, George Lane, Birchwood and Little Bow parks. Map
Sheppard Family Park Visitors to High River wishing to spend a pleasant day in the countryside do not have far to venture. They can visit Sheppard Family Park located one block east of the Bob Snodgrass Recrecreation Complex on the south side of 12th Avenue southeast. While they are there, they can drop into the Visitor Information Centre, located at the park in the lower level of the Munroe Barn.
George Lane Park The park's campground is open May 1st to the end of September. There are 56 camping spots, 40 serviced with electrical power. Campers can enjoy full camping services with washrooms and showers. For campground information and reservations call (403) 652-2529.
