High River's businesses and citizens welcome the film and television industry.The Town of High River is proud to have been part of a number of well known productions.
The popular series Heartland is currently filmed in High River.
Other well-know productions that have been set in High River include:
- Northern Lights (a Lifetime original movie)
- "A Friend of the Family"
- "Lies My Father Told Me"
- "Child of Mine"
... the television series "Caitlin's Way" as well as the major motion picture frachise " Superman" and "Unforgiven".
The Alberta Film Advantage has become obvious most recently with "Brokeback Mountain" filmed in southern Alberta receiving seven nominations, winning "Best Picture" at 63rd annual Golden Globe awards.
