The Noise Control Bylaw is to restrict, mitigate and abate activities which give rise to unnecessary noise in the Town, especially during the evening.

 The Bylaw states that “ALL noise shall be reduced as far as possible in line with the normal activities of urban life and that unnecessary noise be eliminated.”

And that “NO person shall make, continue to make or cause or allow to be made or continued ANY loud, unnecessary or unusual noise or any noise which annoys, disturbs, injures, endangers or detracts from the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of other persons within the limits of the town.”

Acceptable hours for noise are:
Monday to Saturday
8:00am until 10:00pm

Sundays & Holidays
9:00am until 10:00pm

It is NOT acceptable to make noise BEFORE or AFTER these hours.
