Memorial Tree Program
The Town of High River is now providing the opportunity to create a living memory with the Memorial Tree Program.
Anyone wishing to commemorate a special event, or create a memorial, can purchase a tree through the town, which will be planted in either of two parks as a living legacy that can be enjoyed by everyone.
“The $500 fee for the tree includes a plaque and maintenance for the life of the tree,” explained Town Arborist and Open Spaces Planner Darlene Donovan.
There are a number of evergreen and deciduous trees from which to select . The selected trees are planted each spring in either George Lane or Riverside Park, with a plaque will be placed on the memorial tree sign in that park to commemorate the individual or event. Orders must be submitted by January 1.
