High River's businesses and citizens welcome the film and television industry.The Town of High River is proud to have been part of the following productions:
- Heartland (CBC television)
- Northern Lights (a Lifetime original Movie)
- "A Friend of the Family"
- "Lies My Father Told Me"
- "Child of Mine"
... the television series "Caitlin's Way" as well as the major motion picture frachise " Superman" and "Unforgiven".
The Alberta Film Advantage has become obvious most recently with "Brokeback Mountain" filmed in southern Alberta receiving seven nominations, winning "Best Picture" at 63rd annual Golden Globe awards.
High River and area has a long history with film dating back to the 1960's involving the following films:

Over fifteen movies have been filmed in the High River area since 2000 with "Little House on the Prairie" in 2004 and "The Assassination of Jesse James" and "Brokeback Mountain" in 2005.
