The Town of High River’s new council was sworn into office on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at their inaugural Organizational Meeting. A municipal by-election was held on October 17, 2016 and Michael Nychyk was sworn in on October 24, 2016 to serve a one-year term after Councillor Peter Loran resigned in August.
There will be a full municipal election held in October, 2017 as all current Councillors will reach the end of their term.
