Record turn-out results in new council for High River HIGH RIVER, AB: The results are in for High River’s municipal election and residents have chosen the following individuals to represent them for the next four years (view full results for all candidates):

These numbers are the unofficial results as of 9:15 p.m. Monday, October 21. Results become official at noon, four days after the election, if there has been no challenge to the final count.
High River residents came out in record numbers to select the council members who will represent them for the next four years. Approximately 61 percent of the population cast their ballot starting with the advance polls on October 16 and 19 when more than 800 voters participated. “This is more than double what we experienced at the last election,” said Sharon Doll, director of Legislative Services.
More than 3000 people lined up all day Monday to cast their ballot bringing the total number of voters to 3,992 of the approximately 6500 residents who are eligible to vote.
The new council’s first meeting is scheduled for October 28 at the Joint Administration Building at 309 Macleod Trail SW at 1:00 P.M. when they will officially be sworn into office, establish their meeting schedule and determine the committees each member will represent for the coming year. A retreat is planned for November 6 – 7 where new and returning members will have an orientation on their roles and responsibilities, and receive an overview of current projects and activities.
