With over 100 km of open roads to maintain, the Town of High River’s road maintenance crew always has a job to do. In between the huge tasks of street cleaning and snow removal the roads crew is also kept busy with patching and painting roads, sidewalk and curb repairs, street sign and traffic light maintenance, as well as grading the laneways. The roads crew also looks after outdoor rink maintenance as time allows.
Each spring the Operational Services Division strives to keep the Town of High River clean with its annual Street Sweeping Program. This program serves several functions including;
It will take approximately 10 weeks to complete the initial sweeping of the streets in the town. Signs will be posted in all residential areas 24 hours prior to sweeping.
Street sweeping operations can be dangerous. Motorist should drive with caution when passing street sweepers. Maintenance areas tend to be dusty and visibility may be restricted. Parents are advised to keep children away from all street operations. Stones and other flying debris can be hazardous.
Watch for advertisements during the sweeping period for specific information on areas to be swept. This information can be found on the Town of High River website as well as the Town Crier. Weekly updates will be posted on the Towns website to notify residents of the progress of the program.
The Town of High River asks for your cooperation by refraining from parking vehicles on the street when your area is being cleaned. Signs will be placed on streets 24 hours before the commencement of sweeping.

An early shift will be utilized for cleaning streets listed #1, #2, #3, and #4.
The sweeping program will continue throughout the summer this year to help alleviate dust and debris caused by the construction in High River.
