The Town has been working closely with the Calgary Regional Partnership over the past year in order to begin offering a regional public transportation system to residents of High River.

“Having a regional transportation service is a great step forward for economic development in High River,” says Jodi Dawson, manager of economic development for the Town. “We hope it will provide convenience for current residents who work in Calgary, and for those who are considering relocation who need a transportation option.”

The two-year pilot project is being led by the Calgary Regional Partnership, of which the Town of High River is a member. The initial route will run between Calgary and the communities of High River, Black Diamond, Turner Valley, and Okotoks.

During the first year, On-It will provide weekday commuter service during peak morning and evening hours between the Somerset-Bridlewood LRT Station in Calgary and the participating municipalities. The pilot will be evaluated in the second year and as ridership grows, additional service will be added.

Complete details on this initiative including routes, schedules, fares and frequently asked questions can be found at www.onitregionaltransit.com.
