Town offers daycamps during the holidays
Due to low registration the Christmas Daycamps had to be cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The Town of High River Community Programming department will be providing daycamps for children aged five to twelve over the Christmas break. Daycamps will be held at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex and consist of a variety of activities ranging from swimming, crafts and group games.
“Our Schools Out Daycamps are a great option for parents who need childcare over the holidays while their kids are out of school,” says Iva Woodward, community programmer for the town. “It’s also a great way to keep your kids active and entertained over their two week break.”
Daycamps run on weekdays from Thursday, December 27th until Friday, January 4th (No daycamps will be held on December 31st or January 1st). Camps run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with pre and post daycamp care included in the price.
“The town’s daycamps are much more than just a daycare service. We offer a comprehensive and structured program that keeps children active and having fun throughout the day,” says Woodward.
Each day will be packed with activities including swimming, skating, crafts, sports and other group games. Depending on the weather there will also be outside time. On the first day parents will be given a schedule for the week that outlines activities and locations.
“Please remember to pack a healthy nut free lunch and a morning and afternoon snack. Also don’t forget to send a water bottle, skates, as well as a swim suit and towel,” says Woodward. “Parents should also come a few minutes early on the first day to sign the waiver.”
Cost of the camps is $135 for the full week, $35 for a full day or $20 for a half day (Includes pre and post care). For more information or to register please call 403-652-4042.
The town also offers Friday toddler care at the Recreation Complex for parents who are busy watching another child play hockey or taking a swimming lesson. The program runs Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m. and the parent or caregiver must remain in the recreation complex. Talk to the front desk for more information.
