Help expand the Happy Trails!

The Town is currently fundraising to pave a portion of the Happy Trails in the southwest as part of a Canada 150 legacy project. Click here for more information on he Canada 150 Legacy Trail.

High River offers more than 19 kms of paved pedestrian and cycling pathways all throughout the community, connecting many of the town’s recreational facilities. Set along the river and through the many parks and greenspaces found in town, the Happy Trails provide a picturesque and environmental alternative for navigating High River.

Residents can walk, bike and ride along the well maintained walkways. Whether you’re searching for some exercise, an alternative route to travel through town, or a quiet spot for contemplation, you can find it on the Happy Trails.

The Happy Trails play an important role in encouraging a healthy, low-cost, environmentally sustainable choice for recreation and transportation. The system is be designed for multiple users and a range of recreational activity and abilities. Where feasible, the pathway system was designed to accommodate walkers, strollers, runners, people with disabilities, cyclists, in-line skaters and skateboarders. Key planning and design principles include continuity and avoiding gaps.

If you have questions or concerns about the Happy Trails or would like to request maintenance/additional dog waste disposal stations, please contact Town of High River Operations at 403-652-4657
